Like you probably are, I was quite skeptical when I first heard about getting a free Nintendo Wii. So I did a bit of research, trying to find the catch. Instead I found out this is just a new way companies are using to try and get you, the consumer to use their products and services instead of their competitors.

Its all down to referral marketing. The referral company Freebie Jeebies gets paid for each person it directs to it's affiliates site. And these affiliates are well known companies like LOVEFiLM, HSBC and Alliance & Leicester so you can see there is some well known brands behind this. Step by step it works like this:
- You complete an offer for one of Freebie Jeebies' affiliates, for example sign up to LOVEFiLM's free trial offer.
- The affiliate (LOVEFiLM) pays Freebie Jeebies a fee for referring you.
- You then refer others to do the same, LOVEFiLM pays that fee for each of those people.
- The referral site can then afford to buy your Nintendo Wii plus make a little profit.
Ultimatly it's a win-win situation for all parties...
- You get your Nintendo Wii without having to spend the £170 or so it costs.
- Freebie Jeebies gets enough from the fees collected to give them a profit.
- LOVEFiLM gets a potential new customer who may like the service enough to keep it.
